OH955
We are working with a UK market leader in the provision of Occupational Health services to source an Occupational Health Advisor for an on-site role at a car manufacturer in Derby. This is a full-time permanent role working within a comprehensive occupational health team, comprising of Physiotherapists, Technicians, OHA’s, and OHP’s, who all work on site. There are also 2 dedicated on site administrators. You will work 1 day a week on site which will be a Thursday day shift (07.30 – 15.48) and the remainder of the week will be spent working from home.
The role is a mixture of management referrals, health surveillance, emergency response and private care pathway.
Role Responsibilities:
- Face to face, telephone, and online video assessments for management referrals.
- Health Surveillance and monitoring.
- Proactive health advice.
- Emergency first aid cover.
You will have a minimum of 12 months experience as an occupational health advisor. It would be advantageous to have an OH qualification but not essential. You must be a Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
Management referral times tend to be 45 mins for new assessments, 60 mins for more complex assessments and 30 minutes for reviews. The reports are short and to the point so this is ample time to get the assessments done. There are no KPI’s on the number of cases per day.
Experience in health surveillance is preferred especially audio and spiro but they can offer training on this.
Emergency response. Work place accidents and incidents are rare but they do happen. There are approx. 2500 employees on site. The site also has 18 de fibs. Nurses will cover the car plant and engine plant. They will hold an emergency response phone on them whilst on shift.
Private healthcare pathway. Employees have the option to sign up to the company private medical insurance policy. If employees have a health complaint (and this can be something that effects their work or it doesn’t) and they pay into the private healthcare scheme, the OH team can refer to diagnostics and make onward referrals so the individual can seek a private healthcare appointment under the policy.
The OH team also do all of the post op care when back at work and manage the entire return to work process.
The role is full time.
Salary is up to £45,000 plus shift allowance dependent upon qualifications and experience.

25 days holiday plus bank holidays and the opportunity to buy holiday days.
